Briana has spent the last 16 years in education as a middle school teacher, K-8 computer teacher, adjunct instructor, Technology Director and Instructional Technology Coach. Currently, Briana is the Head of Instructional Technology for an independent school. In this role, she focuses on integrating technology into the curriculum in authentic ways, explores emerging technologies, creates embedded professional development opportunities, and guides the school’s technology vision.
Briana’s passion for technology extends beyond the classroom. She enjoys combining her love of crafts, DIY, science, and technology by creating soft circuit wearables, MaKey MaKey projects and, even Altoid tin flashlights!
Briana has presented and facilitated workshops at the local and state level with a focus on integrating technology into the curriculum, iPad 1:1 program implementation, apps for creativity and assessment, Promethean Interactive Whiteboards, and Google Apps and Google Earth. Additionally, Briana gives back to the Ed Tech community by serving on the Illinois Computing Educators (ICE) Governing Board, Executive Board and Conference Committee. Her roles have included Secretary, President, and Volunteer Committee Chair. She also served on the Northern Illinois Computing Educators (NICE) Executive Board as president and as the NICE Mini Grant Coordinator.
