NEWS

Students have been working on learning a basic process to use when conducting Internet research. Students have learned about different search tools, such as search engines, subject directories and metasearch engines. They have also been practicing Boolean searching techniques and learning how to use advanced searches like the one provided by Google.

As part of this research process students are learning how to evaluate informaiton. They are focusing on identifying the author or sponsor of a site, determining whether the author or sponsor is reliable, and deciding if the information fits their project.

Following this evaluation process, students will learn how to cite the sources they use to complete a project.

As an additional project, 6G will be learning how to shoot, download and edit video footage by creating a commercial as part of their science unit on elements.
